LESSON 17- EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 2 PRACTICUM
Educational Technology 2 aims to provide new
teachers to use the new trend of technology in the teaching learning process of
students. Educational technology 2 promises to bring the student teacher and
the professional teacher trainee to the challenge of a new age-integrating technology
in teaching-learning process. It is said to be the preparation for the future
teachers to counteract with the challenges in teaching in this new generation. Beginning
form Lesson 1 up to the end lesson we have learned that everything needs to be
applied. Through practice everything would be perfect. And by knowing the
basics you can then be able to understand on how to enter in a more complex
program that can be more efficient in the educational system.
LESSON 16- THE INTERNET AND EDUCATION
Internet the most popular and talked computer
network system of the world it has been a necessity for some people .this has a
great impact in the learning process of students and teacher also. Almost
everything is to be found in the internet, that’s why many of the teachers now
days needs to be computer literate to cope up with the high tech world. There
are numerous seminars and trainings that are now offered and integrated to them
to help them cope up. Because some teachers who knows how to surf the internet they
give assignments which are to be found in the internet. And mostly there are
online teachers who teaches their students through the use of SKYPE
applications wherein, wherever you are in this world you can have a teaching
that is face to face . So that’s how powerful and influencing internet is now a
days in our lives.
LESSON 15- UNDERSTANDING HYPERMEDIA
Hypermedia nothing but multimedia wherein it can
help in the teacher-student learning process. It is said to be as educational
computer software wherein information is presented and student activities are
integrated in a virtual learning environment .It provides autonomous learning,
wherein the learner have the control to make his own discussion on the path,
flow of instruction. And he has a wide range of navigation routes depending on
his ability and motivation. All of these are usable with the presence of a tea
her because a teacher still is the one who leads the class and the hypermedia
is just an instrument to used
LESSON 14- THE SOFTWARE AS AN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE
What do we mean by Software? Software
is the one who runs the computer it is the heart of the computer without software
a computer won’t work. It is system that commands the computer machine what to do.
The monitor, mouse, CPU these are the parts of a computer Microsoft Windows is
the most widely used software in the while world .Wherein it is the easiest
software to be used. Through this a teacher and a student can then got
instructional materials that could be used in the teaching- learning process. . Instructional software is those which can be
downloaded in the internet. But as a teacher they should only choose
instructional software that can be used in the teaching-learning process.
LESSON 13- COOPERATIVE LEARNING WITH THE COMPUTER
Computer, fairly natural learning vehicle for
cooperative learning this has been agreed upon researchers, but for them educators
they still wary about the computer role in cooperative learning. The goal of
the Department of Education and the Government od to have a ratio of 1:1
wherein one computer per student .But still it is a big challenge not only in
the Philippines but also in other developing countries due to lack of funds and
resources. That’s why many of the students would go out and use computer in
internet café. Through this cooperative
learning then takes place. But it can never be called cooperative learning of
the members of the group didn’t share a common goal, interdependence, interaction,
individual accountability and social skills.
LESSON 12- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING
When we say traditional
classroom it is when a teacher is the one who dominates the teaching process.
He is the only source of knowledge or the fountain of information to students. In Student Centered Learning there is an interaction between the student and the
teacher .The student is the one who will discuss to the whole class wherein the
teacher is has given him the topic to be discussed. And through this the students
then become active and develop independence and self-awareness in the learning
process.
The
use of technology then takes place through using Microsoft PowerPoint or Word
Processing his discussion with the classes. And the teacher then would input
some ideas which are not discussed by the student in class. But all of these
are still in the process and not yet implemented all over the Philippines but
in some areas these are used depending on the availability of the gadgets. And
as a whole, still the teacher is the one who manages the classroom. And is
still the one who guides the student.

LESSON 11- THE COMPUTER AS THE TEACHER'S TOOL
High technology is fast approaching . The use of computer is indeed in demand for almost everything in work especially in offices, media and in school, computers are needed. When we say computer as a teacher's tool it said to be a tool in the teaching- learning process. The computer can provide vast amounts of information in various forms, such as text, graphics , sound and video, which provides creativity to students and teachers also as well. As a tool it can be used for manipulating information , visualizing one's understanding and building new knowledge. By means of virtual reality 3 D images are on display to give the user the feeling that are situated in a virtual environment.
LESSON 10- THE COMPUTER AS A TUTOR
The computer as one of the wonders of human ingenuity. It has been a tool for programmed instruction.Educators as of now see the use of computer as a tool in learning. It can be a tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his personal role as classroom tutor. But it doesn't that it replaced the teacher since the teacher plays the major roles of information deliverer and learning environment controller. Computer assisted instructions works best in reinforcing learning through repetitive exercises. This wooud help students recall and practice programs so as to understands fully the subject matter .The role of computer acts as a tutor to students but not to replace teachers. Using simulation programs, instructional games, problem solving software, multimedia encyclopedia and electronic books it does help in the decision making of students and does aids in the teaching- learning process.

LESSON 9- COMPUTER AS INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Computer one of the best discovery of all times . This has become part of every persons life in work and in students life. It has become a basic requirement in the business world in education and in any other networks. The basic which is the Microsoft office are usually use in offices and surfing the internet to find answers to question and to be part of the high tech world. The personal computer has become a tool for both audio-visual creation and media communication. In the electronic world it does help in the execution of software programs. in the e-finance the computer is use to protect secret codes. In the entertainment industry computer does help specially in 2D and 3D animation and there is no single facet of entertainment that doesn't involve computer in some way anymore. In the advertising industry, advertisers use computers to create layout for a certain project to be presented to their clients. And in propaganda or development communication it helps create or influence ,mass audiences. So in our modern world computer is the front-liner in every task we do.
LESSSON 8- HIGHER THINKING SKILLS THROUGH IT-BASED PROJECTS
Information Technology (IT) based projects can
help develop learners higher thinking skills and creativity among learners. But
still it is the students themselves who demonstrate higher thinking skills and
creativity through such activities searching for information, organizing and
synthesizing ideas, creating presentations and the like. Creativity of students
should be recognized and approved even in simple projects because creativity
should not be equated with ingenuity or high intelligence. The four IT based projects,
Resource based projects which lets the students find their own facts and
information and thus the teacher step in to supply data when necessary. This
would encourage students to be resourceful and be able to express what they
have in mind and discover their own intelligence. In simple creations students
are assigned to create their software materials to supplement the need for
relevant and effective materials this would enhance students, creativity
through analyzing, synthesizing and promoting and being creative is to be
simple. In Guided Hypermedia projects, it would be on the use of high technology
gadgets sucj as computers by doing Power point presentations which is also very
educational to students. Web based projects is through web pages posting
wherein they may link to other related sites in the internet but it may be too
ambitious and expensive in the teaching-learning process.

LESSON 7 – IT FOR HIGHER THINKING SKILLS AND CREATIVITY
The entrance of information Technology in the teaching method has a great impact in the teaching- learning process of teachers and students .Following the Blooms taxonomy: Knowledge, Comprehension and application has been successful for achieving learning outcomes. Thus the role of teachers in the learning process of students is still very important. The new framework of higher thinking skills and creativity is just only a guide to teacher on student’s higher thinking process. The teacher then facilitates the learners to help achieve higher level thinking skills and creativity beyond the ordinary benchmark of the student’s achievement. The project method then is an example of higher learning outcomes because students work on projects on their own. So for teachers the goal is to help students achieve higher thinking skills and creativity by guiding them.
LESSON 6 – IT ENTERS TO A NEW LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Learning
simply means the acquisition of knowledge or skill. And by this we can simply
say that every little thing can be learned. With the use of the different
models of learning such as meaningful, discovery, generative and constructivism
learning we can see how effective teacher best interact with students. In
meaningful learning the learner is encouraged to recognize relevant experiences,
and the learners are given time to hands on activities so as to stimulate learners.
In discovery learning by applying technology,
the presentation of tutorial process can help students learns at his own pace. In
generative learning it emphasizes to what can be done with the pieces of information.
In constructivism the learner builds a personal understanding through
appropriate learning activities and a good learning environment.
Through these different models of
teaching we can say that there are better ways to learn others than rote
learning on memorization. But this doesn’t mean that we should stop using the
memorization and drill activities because it still part of the teaching process
and the technology only adds on the teaching strategies of teachers . But through
the use of these technologies we can easily access learning through the use of
computers.

LESSON 5 – STATE-OF-THE-ART ET APPLICATION PRACTICES
When we say teaching-learning process now a day,
what comes in our mind is the use of technology. But is it really expensive and
takes time other in teaching? For me it differs from ne situation to another.
When you’re living in urban areas the use of technology is just part of their
daily lives. The use of this technology is not expensive because they can use
it anytime anywhere because internet connections are readily available. But in
rural areas, it is not that easy to get internet connections due to the fact
that some areas have no source of electricity. So they need to go to their
neighboring town or in cities.
LESSON 4 – BASIC CONCEPTS ON INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY IN INSTRUCTION
The application of educational
Technology through the use of computers in teaching means the use of learning technologies to
introduce reinforce, supplement and extend skills. Thus playing computer games
isn’t that useful in the educational learning of students. And students
spending off school time just to play computer games are not a part of learning. The focus on the learning process in school
is lowered and would have a biggest effect in their achievement in life.
LESSON 3 – EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION
Information and Communication
Technology in the different countries namely New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia,
Singapore and Hongkong has been widely used in the teaching-learning process.
It aims for a more quality of school education to students. The use of
computers is very vital in our Educational System now a day. In offices, a
computer is needed for making every task effective and efficient.
In the Philippines now a days the
Department of Education is starting to adapt in this high technology for
students to be competitive in the global network. The plan of 1:1 ratio for
student and computer isn’t that reachable as of today because we have a huge
number of students enrolled in every school all over the Philippines. The
allotted budget for education isn’t that big enough to meet these demands. The
government is trying to give a number of computer units for the use of everyone
in school. But it isn’t enough for them to learn. And so to cope up with the
Information Technology use in education the government should focus on giving
support for the purchase of these IT equipments.
For the past few years, Philippines
have been the number one (1) texting capital in Asia. The use of such device
helps everyone to communicate with other people easily. It also helps in the
learning process through browsing the internet using cellphones and
transferring of facts from one person to another. But one of the disadvantages
of cellphones texting is using incorrect spelling or shortened word wherein
users become use to it until such time they would forget the correct spelling
of words. That’s why technology has advantages and disadvantages it is just how
a person use it to make it useful in his daily life.
LESSON 2 – AN OVERVIEW: EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 2
High technology is fast approaching in the new
generation. And the use of computers is the very first step to embrace in this
new world. And being a student they should be knowledgeable on the use of it,
not merely because it is required in school but to let them prepare to face the
future wherein one of the requirements in seeking a job is to be a computer
literate. The use of word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet application (MS
Excel), presentation technique (MS Powerpoint) are the basics in embracing the
modern world.
Browsing the internet, surfing the
web and joining social media is one of the new trends of this modern world.
These would help not only the students but also the teacher in the learning
process. There are websites that are intended for educational purposes that
would help students get more information wherein a teacher can’t teach in a
limited in a classroom setting. Educational websites are readily available for
users, for as of today students are now engaged in the use of internet as part
of their learning process.
LESSON I - OVERVIEW OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
Technology, one of the very reasons why people of
today make life gets easier. In many developing countries like US, England,
Japan, Singapore and Australia, the use of modern technology in education has a
very great impact in the teaching-student learning process. Technology opens up
a wide avenue of possibilities for making education more interactive and
educative. However in the Philippines the use of technology is still getting
into start but are limited due to the fact that Philippines is still a
developing country and is facing a problem of poverty.
In many rural areas here in the
Philippines the use of textbooks is one of the most effective tools in the
student learning process because there is a lack of resources to use by them.
The use of computers is of great help for students and teacher but it would
differ on the type of use. Many computer shops are now open for use. Playing
computer games could not really affect on the students performance if he tries
to manage his time wisely. Nevertheless many people play because it’s a way of
relaxing themselves and an outlet of a very stressful day. But as a whole the
use of computer is very useful in the learning process.
