LESSON 12- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING

When we say traditional classroom it is when a teacher is the one who dominates the teaching process. He is the only source of knowledge or the fountain of information to students. In Student Centered Learning there is an interaction between the student and the teacher .The student is the one who will discuss to the whole class wherein the teacher is has given him the topic to be discussed. And through this the students then become active and develop independence and self-awareness in the learning process.

The use of technology then takes place through using Microsoft PowerPoint or Word Processing his discussion with the classes. And the teacher then would input some ideas which are not discussed by the student in class. But all of these are still in the process and not yet implemented all over the Philippines but in some areas these are used depending on the availability of the gadgets. And as a whole, still the teacher is the one who manages the classroom. And is still the one who guides the student.
